Regions That Successfully Create Work Get Big Prizes: Minister Of Finance Purbaya Prepares IDR 1 Trillion
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive revealed that the government has prepared additional incentives for local governments (Pemda) as a form of appreciation for positive performance.
Purbaya said that the government allocated Rp1 trillion in funds as an award for local governments that showed the best performance in job creation and inflation control.
He added that the discussion on the incentives had also been discussed in communicating with a number of related ministers.
"It seems that if I talked to Mr. (Minister of Home Affairs) Tito already has funds for such results, earlier Mr. (Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs) Airlangga asked for more, later we will see what the addition is. There are already Rp1 trillion in funds provided for such rewards, he said, they already exist," he told the media crew after attending the 2025 Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting (PTBI), Sunday, November 30.
Purbaya explained that the incentives were designed to encourage regional economic growth and expand job creation. Incentives are given as a form of appreciation for regional performance in various sectors.
"So Pak Airlangga wants to give additional rewards, maybe for economic growth or job creation. So areas that can create jobs will be given incentives," said Pak Airlangga, but I don't know the details," he said.
He emphasized that the incentive budget will apply in the 2026 fiscal year.
"Next year, this year (2025) the budget has run out," he said.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto asked for directions as well as President Prabowo Subianto's approval regarding the allocation of fiscal incentive funds for the winners of the TPID & TP2DD Award and the 2025 Digital Championship.
"We hope that the next direction of the President for the TPID & TP2D Award and the 2025 Digital Championship can be given fiscal incentives. So please direct the President," said Airlangga at the Annual Meeting of Bank Indonesia, Friday (28/11).
He added that the availability of the budget had been confirmed to the Minister of Finance Purbaya, with a need for funds of around Rp. 786 billion to be distributed to recipients.
"Earlier I asked for the funds to be available. The amount is not too large, Mr. President, approximately Rp. 786 billion is divided," he said.
Airlangga emphasized that the incentive is a form of appreciation from the central government to local governments who have succeeded in maintaining price stability and encouraging the acceleration of service digitization.
