Caring For The Sumatran Disaster, Tathya Dharaka Association, Akpol 2005 Sends Thousands Of Basic Foods
JAKARTA - 2005 Police Academy Alumni Association Tathya Dharaka showed their concern by sending thousands of food packages to Sumatran residents affected by the disaster.
This assistance is a tangible manifestation of empathy as well as moral support for people who are struggling to rise after flash floods, floods, and landslides hit various areas in Sumatra.
Disasters in three provinces on the island of Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and West Sumatra (West Sumatra) have had a major impact on the community. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) released the latest data, namely the number of victims who died reached 316 people, while hundreds of other residents were still missing.
As for the details, namely, the number of victims who died in Aceh reached 54 people and 55 others are still being sought, in North Sumatra there were 172 people who died and 147 others were missing, while in West Sumatra there were 90 people who died and 87 others are still being sought.
The high number of victims and the wide area of the affected area make the need for logistical, food, and psychosocial support very urgent.
The presence of assistance from various parties, including the 2005 Police Academy Alumni Association, is a hope for many families who now have lost their homes and access to basic needs.
Tanjung Perak Port Police Chief, AKBP Wahyu Hidayat, participated directly in delivering the aid.
As part of the 2005 Alumni Akpol extended family, he said that this action was born from the heart and sense of togetherness.
"We want brothers and sisters in Sumatra to know that they are not alone. Hopefully this assistance can ease their burden," said Wahyu Hidayat.
