Problems On Software, BMW Recall Thousands Of These Model Units In China
JAKARTA - BMW recalled electric vehicles in China due to software problems, which can cause vehicles to lose power, is certainly very dangerous for users.

In detail, BMW recalled 17 imported i7 vehicles produced between December 12, 2022, and November 30, 2023, and 85 imported iX vehicles produced between March 10, 2023, and December 18, 2023.
Including 917 units of domestically produced i5 models produced between April 15, 2024, and December 18, 2024, and 1,707 domestically produced iX1 vehicles produced between April 11, 2024, and May 17, 2025. The company will withdraw 5,014 domestically produced i3 vehicles between April 20, 2024, and January 4, 2025, starting January 26, 2026.
Local regulators noted problems with certain systems, which could result in power loss in electric propulsion units, increasing the risk of collisions and causing security hazards. This recall is a recall for certain vehicles included in the August 8, 2025 recall campaign.
During the previous recall implementation, some vehicles were not equipped with the correct software version. Regarding this recall, BMW will modify the improvement measures in this recall by providing a free software upgrade to a higher version.
