The 2025/2026 Nusantara League Officially Rolls Out, The Best Choice Home Tournament Format

SOLO - The Nusantara League for the 2025 season is officially opened by presenting Persibo Bojonegoro's match against Rans Nusantara at the Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Central Java on Saturday, November 29, 2025 night.

There are a total of 160 matches scheduled to take place until the determination of the promotion. Ferry ensured that the holding of this competition was in accordance with the federation's plan.

"Yes, it is in accordance with the agenda of the implementation of the Nusantara League, the third strata. Indeed, we plan in November according to PSSI's mandate that the Nusantara League be held according to the established scheme," he said at the Sriwedari Stadium.

Ferry explained that the use of the home tournament format was again implemented due to efficiency considerations, especially for Liga 3 clubs, which mostly have a limited budget.

The Nusantara league is also still using the home tournament system. It's here (Solo), Boyolali, Magelang, and Surabaya. The entire total of the Nusantara League is 160 matches," explained Ferry.

The team's financial condition is also said to be the most realistic reason for the implementation of the scheme being chosen.

"Financially, the strength of these 24 clubs is indeed inadequate. It is proven that before kick-off there are still those who resign," he said.

Ferry also revealed that initially the Nusantara League was attended by 24 clubs, but two clubs such as Persikabo and Persewar Waropen, decided to withdraw just before the competition started.

"The contestants who competed should be 24. But there are two clubs that have resigned, so that there are only two clubs that are relegated at the bottom, then there is an addition from the fifth rank of each group," he said.

Regarding the two teams that resigned, Ferry ensured that the club would still be subject to sanctions according to the rules.

"Yes, of course, because of finances. In the regulation, it is only financially and automatically relegated," said Ferry.
