Enlivened By 600 Participants, Palestine Walk 2025 Shows Indonesia's Support For Palestine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of the Republic of Indonesia held the Palestine Walk 2025 which took place at Car Free Day (CFD) Jakarta. This event was held as a form of solidarity that coincided with the commemoration of International Solidarity Day for the Palestinian People which falls every November 29.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arrmanatha C. Nasir, explained that this activity was attended by various diplomatic elements and the general public.

"Today we are with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs I, Mr. Anis Matta, and Ambassadors from friendly countries. Of course there are Palestinian Ambassadors, and Ambassadors from Middle Eastern countries, Europe, and other areas," said Arrmanatha in the Jakarta Pusst area, Sunday, November 30.

He detailed that there were at least 600 participants who followed the leisurely path, accompanied by around 30 representatives of the Ambassador of friendly countries and representatives from the United Nations (UN).

This event is the culmination of a series of solidarity activities that have been held over the past week, including photo exhibitions and film screenings.

"Today our event was attended by approximately 600 participants who took part in the walk this morning, and also about 30 representatives from the Ambassador here, including representatives from the United Nations," he explained.

"Well, this is actually a series of activities that have been carried out in the past week. So there is a photo exhibition and there is also a movie screening that has been carried out in the last few days," continued Arrmanatha C. Nasir.

On this occasion, Arrmanatha also highlighted that the empathy of Indonesian diplomats was not only focused on going abroad. Through the 'Diplomat Cares' movement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also raised funds for victims of natural disasters that hit the Sumatran region (Aceh and North Sumatra) a few weeks ago.

"Our solidarity is not only to the situation we are currently seeing in Palestine, but also to the disaster situation that occurred in Sumatra," he explained.

This fundraising involves Indonesian diplomats around the world, as well as individual contributions from the Ambassadors and foreign embassy staff who attended the event.

"Of course, our solidarity is not only about the situation we are currently seeing in Palestine, but also the situation that also occurred, the disaster that occurred in Sumatra a few weeks ago," continued Arrmanatha C. Nasir.

"Well, in this case, we also use this opportunity, "Diplomat Cares", Indonesian diplomats around the world raise funds to help victims of disasters in Sumatra that occurred last week," he said.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al-Shun, expressed his deep appreciation for the continuous support from the government and the people of Indonesia. He called Palestine Walk a real message to the world and a strong warning to Israel.

"This is a good and clear message to Netanyahu's criminals and his cabinet that they must leave Palestine. Palestine must be independent," said Zuhair in an emotional tone.

"Thank you from my heart for all those who were with me this morning, for the Indonesian government, and all participating countries. This is a message that Palestine will one day be free and independent," he continued.
