Ministry Of Creative Economy Wants Local IP To Advance Classes Through JAFF Market 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is committed to strengthening the film, animation and video ecosystem through supporting and actively participating in the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) Market 2025.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said, JAFF Market is not just a meeting room, but a collaboration bridge that strengthens IP's adaptation path into films and series.

"This opens up new commercial opportunities for creators as well as strengthens the industrial value chain," Riefky said in his official statement, Saturday, November 29.

JAFF Market 2025 took place at the Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta, from November 29 to December 1, 2025 at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) by presenting six programs, namely JAFF Future Project, Content Market, Talent Day, Film & Market Conference, Market Screening and Film Lab.

JAFF Market is said to be a strategic space for IP creators and Indonesian film industry players to collaborate, network and meet investors to encourage the commercialization of works to regional and global markets. As for this second year, JAFF Market is the most influential film platform in the Southeast Asia region.

At last year's event, JAFF Market recorded significant achievements. The forum attracted widespread participation from film industry players from various countries, including South Korea, the Netherlands, Cambodia, Myanmar and Malta.

The total economic impact reached Rp36 billion, while the value of the cooperation contract was recorded at Rp18.5 billion, showing the strategic position of the JAFF Market as a driver of investment in the film sector.

In addition, the event was attended by more than 6,723 visitors, presenting 151 exhibition booths and holding 1,767 business meetings.

At the same momentum, 61 MoU signings were recorded, all of these achievements strengthened JAFF's role as a catalyst for the growth of the national and international film industry to create new jobs.

"In President Prabowo's 3rd Astacita, the government's focus is to increase quality employment opportunities, one of which is in the creative industry. This sector has proven to have a real contribution in opening up new quality jobs, encouraging exports, attracting investment and increasing donations to Gross Domestic Product (GDP)," he said.

In the JAFF Market 2025 edition, the Ministry of Creative Economy supports the Content Market program by presenting 10 IPs of Indonesian creators who have been curated to meet IP industry stakeholders consisting of Amurva, Elang Hitam, Glommy Sunday, Jemawa Yanti, Journal Of Terror, Meng, Sangkala in Langit Andalusia, Tabi, The Summoning and World Without Sleep.

This presence is an important step in encouraging the adaptation of books, comics, games and original works into competitive audio visual content in the global market.

Teuku Rifky emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a form of trust in the quality of Indonesian creators.

According to him, the signing of the MoU shows that Indonesia's IP has competitiveness and is ready to develop into high-value audiovisual works.

"We hope that this kind of collaboration will continue to be expanded so that more national IPs enter the international market," he explained.
