Young Boys Supporters Create Riots Again In England, Big Fines Await
Six men have been arrested at Birmingham Airport after riots involving Young Boys supporters in the Europa League match at Aston Villa headquarters.
The arrests increased the number of suspects detained to eight after two people were detained when Aston Villa won 2-1 on Friday, November 28, 2025, early morning WIB, at Villa Park.
West Midlands Police said a number of officers were attacked by Swiss club supporters, with items including broken chairs and coins directed to police and Aston Villa players. The home forward, Donyell Malen, was hit in the head.
Local police said that two visitors had been arrested on suspicion of making a fuss and attacking a police officer.

"Six other men have been arrested following riots during the Aston Villa vs Young Boys match. All men were arrested from Birmingham Airport on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and riots," the West Midlands Police said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Inspector Paul Minor regretted that a small fraction of away supporters caused riots and disrupted the match.
"The investigation has been launched. Officers are reviewing the video footage and CCTV worn on the stadium's agency related to the riots," said Paul Minor.
Violence broke out at the lower level of the Doug Ellis Tribune when Aston Villa took the lead. Dozens of police officers were deployed in riot gear.
Young Boys had previously been fined 28,250 euros (approximately IDR 545.5 million) for a similar problem involving their supporters at Manchester City two years ago.
Not only that, Young Boys also received a fine of around 18,000 euros (around Rp. 347.6 million) for the use of fireworks at the Celtic cage in February 2025.
