With The Late Mrs. Raisa, This Is The Cause And Handling Of Lung Cancer

JAKARTA - Raisa's mother, Ria Mariaty, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025. She died after battling lung cancer.

"With full condolences, we, the extended family, convey that Ria Maria Mariaty Binti Rachmat Ardiwinangoen's mother/late has passed away to Rahmatullah," reads Raisa's sister, Rinaldi Nurpratama's upload.

It is known that Raisa's mother has been battling lung cancer since being diagnosed by a doctor in December 2024. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and has undergone various treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells in lung tissue, which can interfere with the function of the respiratory organs.

1. Non-small cell lung cancer

Lung cancer is the most common case of this type, which is about 87 percent of all cases of lung cancer. This type has three main types, namely adenocarsinoma, carcinoma of scuamosa cells, and larga-cell carcinoma.

2. Small cell lung cancer

This one lung cancer is rare. Unlike other types, small-cell lung cancer can spread very quickly and most cases are caused by smoking habits.

The causes of lung cancer are the most common smoking habits. However, people who do not smoke can also be exposed, especially if they are often exposed to air pollution, living in an environment that is polluted with dangerous substances, passive smokers, or having a family who has lung cancer.

Lung cancer usually does not cause symptoms in the early stages. New symptoms will appear when cancer is in a high stage or has spread to tissues and other organs.

Some of the symptoms experienced by patients are chronic cough, shortness of breath, blood cough, and severe chest pain. The treatment depends on the patient's condition and severity of cancer.

The main treatment of early stage lung cancer is surgery. If cancer has reached the advanced stage or stage 4, then treatment can be done with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
