The Ministry Of Public Works Starts Sending Clean Water Sarpras For Flood And Landslide Victims In Aceh

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) ensures the availability of basic facilities and infrastructure to help meet the needs of flood and landslide refugees in Aceh.

The assistance was distributed through the Aceh Building, Infrastructure and Area Planning (BPBPK) Emergency Response Team by deploying two teams to Pidie, Pidie Jaya and Bireuen Regencies.

The 1st team on duty in Pidie Jaya Regency consists of 10 personnel and carries a number of equipment to meet the basic needs of refugees. Among other things, two operational trucks, 12 units of General Hidran (HU) along with HU legs, four units of water tanker cars to ensure clean water supply, three portable toilet units and a saty truck. take care of it to support sanitation services in the field.

Meanwhile, Team 2 which is engaged in Pidie Regency was strengthened by eight personnel carrying one operational truck, six HU units complete with HU legs, two water tanker cars and two portable toilet units.

The aid delivery was made after road access was gradually open and allowed the mobilization of equipment from Banda Aceh. BPBPK Aceh ensured that all units of water tankers (MTA) and public hydrants (HU) were sent in full condition to ensure the availability of clean water for the refugees.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said his party would continue to monitor and be ready to increase support as needed.

"Our principle is to ensure that the affected people get basic services properly and safely during the emergency response period," said Dody in a written statement, Saturday, November 29.

He ensured that his party would continue to coordinate intensively with local governments and all elements of disaster management.

"This support of facilities and infrastructure will continue to be adjusted to the needs of the field, including possible additions to cleaning, clean water and sanitation services for refugees," he added.
