SPPG Diverts MGB To Padang Flood Survivors
The Tanah Sirah Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) has transferred the free nutritious food program (MBG) to flood survivors after being closed for teaching and learning activities in school children in the city, due to natural disasters.
"From Thursday (27/11) to Friday (28/11) we have transferred MBG to flood victims in Padang City," said Head of SPPG Tanah Sirah Agung Sajdah in Padang City, Saturday, November 29, as reported by ANTARA.
He said the transfer of the MBG menu to flood victims was after the direction from the Mayor of Padang and the person in charge or SPPG coordinator for the Padang City area. This transfer is also due to the fact that from Thursday (27/11) elementary school (SD) to junior high school (SMP) students have been closed.
On Thursday (27/11), SPPG Tanah Sirah distributed 1,200 wet foods to Ikua Koto Health Center, Koto Tangah District, while the second day of distribution of MBG was carried out to the disaster post in the Lubuk Min lower area, namely 1,500 dry foods and wet foods each.
Today, SPPG Tanah Sirah did not distribute MBG to flood refugees because it was not operating. The plan is for the transfer of MBG to flood victims to be carried out on Monday (1/12). However, this is still waiting for certainty and developments in the field.
If on Monday (1/12) vocational high school (SMK) children enter school and carry out an exam, then MBG will focus on students, especially the dry food menu.
However, if on the same day elementary and junior high school children are still closed, the food will be diverted to flood victims.
"Today we are not operating, but on Friday (28/11) we will double the portion of MBG for refugees," he said.
On a separate occasion, the Head of the Padang City Education Office,Yopi Krislova, said that elementary and junior high school students were closed due to the impact of the hydrometeorological disaster that hit a number of sub-districts in the city.
"That's right, and the circular," he said.
