These 3 Top Products Are Sold In GoTo In Ramadan, One Of Them Medical Devices
JAKARTA - Technology companies that join Gojek and Tokopedia (GoTo) recorded an increase in sales transactions during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2021. The increase recorded is up to three times compared to the previous month. The best-selling commodities purchased during that period were household needs, fashion and medical devices.
Vice Precident of Marketplace Tokopedia Inna Chandika said that it is very proud of the achievement. Because, most of the merchant partners in its marketplace are small and medium-sized micro enterprises (MSMEs). This increase is considered able to drive the populist economy.
"Parcel sales increased up to three times compared to the previous month and this is the fitting month of Ramadan, all are giving love or gifts to families or relatives who have not met. We are proud to be able to give the best fit for Ramadan this time," he said in a virtual press conference, Monday, May 24.
On the same occasion, Gojek Group Chief Food Officer Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo said that she felt the blessing of Ramadan, especially for merchant partners and drivers. Revenue from partners, both MSMEs and manufacturers, is expected to increase with the merger of the two technology companies.
According to Catherine, during the COVID-19 pandemic, people will be greatly helped by the services provided by GoTo in meeting their daily needs. He hopes that it will be able to revive the populist economy that is currently in disjority.
"We can achieve more MSME activists and a positive impact for drivers (drivers) more widely," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Logistics Gojek Group, Steven Halim hopes that with this collaboration of Gojek and Tokopedia, driver partners also benefit from the growth of MSME partners' businesses, which are gained from more bookings and deliveries, thanks to various promo initiatives such as Gratis Ongkir that GoSend offers.
Furthermore, Steven claimed to be confident that the synergy of Gojek and Tokopedia in Indonesia's time shopping program (WIB) Special Collaboration of Anak Bangsa also encourages an increase in online shopping transactions through e-commerce, which helps the Indonesian economy.
As is known, after the formation of GoTo Group which was announced early last week, Gojek and Tokopedia collaborated to launch The Time of Indonesia Shopping or WIB Special Collaboration of Anak Bangsa held on May 25 to 31, 2021. This WIB program provides promotions in the form of cashback up to Rp100 million.
Vice Precident of Corporate Communications Tokopedia Nuraini Razak said this is the first time Gojek has collaborated fully to support WIB which is a monthly shopping festival by Tokopedia. This program is an effort made to encourage the advancement of the digital ecosystem and the economy of the community.
Through this program, said Nuraini, consumers can enjoy promos in the form of a discount chase of Rp5,000, plus Rp20,000 Shipping Discount with GoSend, Special Cashback, 75 percent GoFood Discount and Free Shipping up to Rp15,000 for new users, and GoFood Plus subscription up to Rp1.
"We are committed to realizing economic equality through technology for anyone and anywhere by going far, going together," he said.
