Update On COVID-19 As Of April 29: Elderly Only Dozens Percent Of Total Patients
JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) explained, based on data as of Thursday, April 30, there had been an increase in positive cases of 347 patients. Thus, the total number of positive cases reached 10,118 patients.
An increase in the number of recovered cases also occurred as many as 131 patients with a total of 1,522 people. Then, in the case of death, it increased by 8 people, so that it became 792 patients.

The addition also occurred for people under monitoring (ODP) with a total of 230,411 people. They consist of people with the potential to be infected until they are declared healthy.
For patients under surveillance (PDP), this increased to 21,827 people. Some of them are people waiting for the results of laboratory tests using the swab method.
In the positive case data, there is a grouping of ages who have contracted COVID-19. The first place with a percentage of 54 percent is occupied by people aged 30 to 59 years.
"Most of our relatives who are positive for COVID-19 are productive groups in the age range of 30-59 years, at 54 percent," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Thursday, April 30.
Then, at the age of 60 to 79 years, the level of contracting the virus is low, only around 16 percent. Furthermore, adolescents at 15 years to adulthood at 29 years were in the range of 15 percent.
Meanwhile, at the lowest level of positive cases are toddlers and elderly people over 80 years. Based on the data, these two groups are only about 1 percent of positive cases nationally.
