West Sumatra Deputy Governor Vasko Guarantees Central Aid Not Piling Up At The Command Post

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of West Sumatra (West Sumatra Provincial Government) ensures that all assistance from President Prabowo Subianto is directly distributed to disaster-affected locations without any piling up at the post.

This was emphasized by the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Vasko Ruseimy, after receiving the President's assistance at Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) Padang Pariaman, Friday, November 28.

Vasko emphasized that his party had prepared a distribution mechanism from the start, including distribution routes for areas experiencing the heaviest impact due to hydrometeorological disasters in recent days.

"Once the aid is received, we will immediately distribute it. Nothing is stored or piled up. We want the community to feel the benefits as soon as possible, especially at the most affected points," said Vasko as quoted by ANTARA.

He explained that the West Sumatra Provincial Government had coordinated with district/city BPBD, TNI/Polri, and all Forkopimda elements to ensure that any assistance that came down was directly directed to areas that needed it according to the latest needs data.

"We move fast. Central and regional coordination must be in harmony, All elements must work in one rhythm. Our focus is on the safety of residents and accelerating recovery," he said.

Meanwhile, the Main Secretary of BNPB, Rustian, emphasized that the President instructed the assistance not to stop in provinces or districts/cities. Distribution must be carried out as soon as the goods are received.

"There should be no help piling up at the disaster post. Any incoming aid is distributed directly. This has become the President's instruction line," said Rustian.

He said the assistance that arrived in West Sumatra, Friday afternoon, was the first stage of assistance, and after the evaluation of the needs of the field was completed, it would soon follow further assistance.

The Deputy Governor together with Sestama BNPB and the Regency/City BPBD Chief of Staff held a coordination meeting to map the distribution of aid and ensure the acceleration of distribution to all affected areas.

The President's assistance that arrived in West Sumatra was transported using Hercules A-1339 Indonesian Air Force aircraft, including tents, supporting equipment, generators, rubber boats, and fast food packages. All of these logistics were lowered and immediately moved to the district/city distribution route.

The West Sumatra Provincial Government together with all elements of Forkopimda, BPBD, TNI/Polri, as well as volunteers are now continuing to strengthen emergency handling measures, including ensuring access to health services, evacuation, and meeting the basic needs of the community.
