BANDARLAMPUNG - Urip Sumoharjo Hospital received 44 COVID-19 patients from South Lampung Regency, Lampung. They detected COVID-19 during the tightening of Eid al-Fitr backflow.

"Lastly there were 44 COVID-19 positive patients sent here from South Lampung," said Director General, Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, Lia Amelia quoted antara, Monday, May 24.

He mentioned that after Eid al-Fitr, Urip Sumoharjo Hospital prepared a bed for COVID-19 patients with 111 beds. However, what is provided to accommodate COVID-19 patients from the results of the sealing is likely only 50 mattresses.

"So we are not the only part, as far as I know, other hospitals are also part of treating COVID-19 patients from the results of the sealing, because the isolation room in Kalianda is full," he said.

Amelia said the acceptance of COVID-19 patients from other districts is appropriate or approved by the relevant office.

"Indeed before Lebaran all hospital directors were gathered by the Governor of Lampung and asked to add beds for COVID-19 patients in anticipation of the increase in cases after Eid al-Fitr. We provide 111 beds," he continued.

Due to the availability of mattresses, the South Lampung Health Office confirmed to move COVID-19 patients to Urip Sumoharjo, because their isolation room is full.

Meanwhile, The Head of Bandarlampung City Health Office, Edwin Rusli, said that referral hospitals in Bandarlampung are still allowed to accept COVID-19 patients even though they are not local residents.

"It is possible to receive corona positive patients from other regions because of the covid-19 cases in our city there has also not been a significant spike," he added.
