Sido Muncul Gives IDR 500 Million Assistance To Foreign Refugees Living In Bogor
JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) carried out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in collaboration with the Jesuit Refugee Service Indonesia Foundation (JRS Indonesia) to help foreign refugees who now live in the Bogor area.
The Rp500 million aid was handed over directly by Sido Muncul International Development Manager, Marco Jonathan Hidayat, to the National Director of JRS Indonesia, Martinus Dam Febrianto, in Bogor, on Wednesday, November 19.
Later, the assistance will be used for 500 refugees who are under the auspices of JRS Indonesia. The handover of this aid was symbolically handed over by the Sido Muncul International Development Manager Marco Jonathan Hidayat to the National Director of JRS Indonesia, Father Martinus Dam Febrianto SJ.
Marco said this assistance was a form of Sido Muncul's concern for others, especially for refugees from the Middle East.
"We believe that humanity is a shared responsibility. We hope that this assistance can ease the burden on foreign refugees who are facing difficult situations and are far from their hometowns," Marco said. added, Sido Muncul also really appreciates JRS Indonesia, which has been playing an active role in providing direct assistance.
President Director of Sido Muncul, Irwan Hidayat said this assistance was provided as a form of humanity to ease the fulfillment of daily needs.
"Hopefully Sido Muncul can continue activities like this as a routine program to provide assistance to refugees," said Irwan.
Irwan explained that the beginning of this program was motivated by discussions about foreign refugees while he was worshiping.

"Refugees are not allowed to work, if he works, he will be arrested, deported, returned to his country. Even though he has no passport, he has nothing," said Irwan.
Meanwhile, the National Director of JRS Indonesia, Father Martinus Dam Febrianto, said that the assistance provided by Sido Muncul for 500 refugees would be distributed in stages.
"In distributing this assistance, we will be given according to priorities, such as children, people with disabilities and parents," he said.
He thanked Sido Muncul for providing assistance to the refugees and hoped that this collaboration could continue.
