Nintendo Acquires Bandai Namco Studio Singapore To Strengthen Game Production

JAKARTA - Nintendo announced that it has acquired Bandai Namco Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based game development company that has been involved in a number of large Nintendo projects.

For information, BNSS has contributed to the development of Nintendo titles, including the Splatoon series, and has sustainable business relationships with Nintendo.

"Given this business record, Nintendo has made the decision to acquire shares in BNSS to strengthen the development structure of the Nintendo Group," Nintendo wrote in its official announcement.

Through this agreement, Nintendo will control 80% of the company's shares on April 1, 2026, with plans to take over the remaining ownership after subsidiary operations are deemed stable. After the acquisition process is complete, the studio will operate under the new name Nintendo Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Nintendo also emphasized that this acquisition would not have a significant impact on fiscal year financial reports.

However, this move is seen as an important part of the company's long-term vision to ensure a stable production capacity in creating high-quality games.

"This acquisition will only have a small impact on Nintendo's results this fiscal year," the company said.

With the establishment of Nintendo Studios Singapore, the company hopes to strengthen the foundation for game development in Southeast Asia, as well as expand the reach of global talents who support the Nintendo creative ecosystem.
