KLH Supports The Use Of Recycle Dropbox To Strengthen The Waste Recycling Ecosystem In The Community
JAKARTA - Waste stockpiling throughout Indonesia based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment (KLH) in 2024, shows more than 37.3 tons per year, with waste managed to be managed at only 32.2 percent or the equivalent of 12 million tons per year.
This shows that good and correct waste management needs to be done not only by the government, but also from the private sector and most importantly from the community.
One of the efforts that can be done in recycling waste is to use a recycle dropbox, which is placed in several locations. Recycle dropbox waste is a special shelter created to collect various types of waste, such as packaged waste, electronics, or hazardous and toxic waste.
KLH is very supportive of the dropbox program to strengthen the waste recycling ecosystem, as did MR.D.IY Indonesia in collaboration with the Rekosistem.

"We welcome the institutional MR.D.IY Indonesia and the Rekosystem in line with the direction of national policies for sustainable waste management," said Agus Rusly, S.Pi., MSI, Director of Waste Reduction and Economic Development of the Circular, KLH/Environmental Control Agency (KLH/BPLH) RI, in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
"Active participation of the private sector like this is very important to increase public awareness and expand the impact of the movement Towards a 2029 Waste-Free Indonesia," he added.
The recycle dropbox is available at 52 MR.D.I.Y stores, which can be accessed by customers to sort and manage daily waste.
Monitoring of accumulated waste data is supported by online dashboards from the Recosystem, which display real-time volume and waste types to ensure transparency and accuracy of waste management data in each location.
"Through the expansion of the Recycle Dropbox program, we want to present a simple and easily accessible way for customers to contribute positively and clearly to the environment," concluded CFO MR.D.I.Y Indonesia, Rika Juniaty.
