PSSI Deputy Reveals Mechanism For The Election Of New Coach For The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - PSSI Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum), Zainudin Amali, revealed the mechanism for selecting the new Indonesian national team coach candidate. Currently, there are five candidates who are under federational monitoring and ready for selection.

According to Amali, the first step PSSI took was to find and review candidates who were considered suitable. This process was carried out by the Technical Director of PSSI and the National Team Agency.

Currently, the position of PSSI Technical Director (Dirtek) is Alexander Zwiers and the Chairman of the PSSI National Team (BTN) is filled with Sumardji. Both were asked to conduct an in-depth study.

After finding a candidate or figure who is considered suitable, an interview will be carried out. For this process, the federation returned to bring Sumardji and Zwiers.

After that, Sumardji and Zwiers will report 15 PSSI Executive Committee (Exco), including PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir.

"The report is waiting from Mr. Mardji. So Mr. Mardji wants to interview and nominate it. Then we asked to bring the candidate (name) to the Exco meeting, it was based on the statement," said Zainudin Amali at the Madya Stadium, Senayan on Wednesday, November 26.

"Right, if you have read the statutes with the letter L. That the committee executive, one of its powers is to determine the national team coach. So that's all. We just do that," he continued.

Later, everything, including the salary requested by the prospective coach, will be discussed at the Exco PSSI meeting. From here, it will be determined who will coach the Indonesian national team.

The mechanism, said Amali, usually does not reach the polling stage or voting. Usually, Exco PSSI can make one vote to make a choice.

"For example, if the demand is too expensive and the federation can't afford it, we can't force it. So it's in accordance with our abilities, but we also ask for quality."

"We don't want voting. The important thing is that the target is clear. Then people can meet the target or not. We don't do things like that," Amali explained.
