Regarding SE, It Is Stated That Gus Yahya Is No Longer The Chairman Of PBNU, Katib Syuriyah PBNU: True And Sah

JAKARTA - Katib Syuriyah Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Sarmidi Husna stated that the Circular (SE) stating that Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya is no longer the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PBNU is true and legal.

The PBNU SE numbered 4785/PB.02/AII.10.01/99/11/2025.

"SE PBNU Number 4785/PB.02/AII.10.01/99/11/2025 signed by Deputy Rais Aam PBNU KH Afifuddin Muhajir and Katib Syuriyah PBNU KH Tajul Mafakhir is true and legal," Sarmidi said at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

Sarmidi said the letter was also a SE sourced from the results of the PBNU Syuriyah Management meeting which discussed the vacancy of the position of Chairman of PBNU, where the leadership of the NU Executive Board was entirely in the hands of Rais Aam as the highest NU leader.

"The circular letter is important to explain the point of which states that KH Yahya Cholil Staquf is no longer the General Chair of PBNU since November 26, 2025 orukul 00.45 WIB," said Sarmidi.

Furthermore, PBNU Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) Nur Hidayat said there was an attempt to sabotage the issuance of the letter, especially in the process of restoring the stamp online which caused the letter to be invalid as previously reported.

He explained that the relocation of the stamp online was a policy set by PBNU as evidenced by the official footer containing the statement This document was signed electronically by Digdaya Persuratan and digitally stamped by Peruri Tera.

Nur Hidayat explained that his party had tried to ratify documents with stamps through three accounts, namely the staff account of the correspondence department, his personal account as the Deputy Secretary General of PBNU and the account of the Secretary General of PBNU. However, the three accounts could not make sudden stamps.

"With this condition, it can be concluded that there was a sabotage action from the PBNU Digdaya Office Project Management Team," said Nur Hidayat.

Previously, PBNU Deputy General Chair Amin Said Husni said that the letter circulating using PBNU letterhead Number 4785 / PB.02 / A.II.10.01 / 99 / 11/2025 was not an official organizational document.

"The PBNU official letter must be signed by four elements, namely Rais Aam, Katib Aam, General Chair, and Secretary General. The documents circulating do not meet these provisions," said Amin Said.

Amin Said said that the certainty regarding the status of the letter was after PBNU carried out administrative and digital verification of the document in question.

According to him, PBNU has submitted an official explanation through letter numbered 4786/PB.03/AI01.08/99/11/2025 dated November 26, 2025 M/05 Jumadal Akhirah 1447 Hijriah.

In the explanation, it was emphasized that the circulating documents did not meet the administrative provisions as stipulated in the Association Regulation Number 16 of 2025 concerning Administrative Guidelines, especially regarding the validity of the PBNU official letter.

Amin explained that the PBNU correspondence system has now been equipped with a layered security mechanism, including a Peruri digital stamp with a QR Code at the bottom left of the letter, as well as an official footer stating that the document was signed electronically by the Digdaya of the Letter and digitally stamped by Peruri Tera.

"Documen yang beredar diketahui tidak memenuhi standar tersebut," katanya.
