Bojan Hodak Launches Criticism, ACL 2 Doesn't Use VAR Like A Super League

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung coach, Bojan Hodak, expressed disappointment after appearing in the Asia Champions League (ACL) 2. Not because his team lost but also about the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which was not implemented in the tournament.

On the fifth matchday of the ACL 2 Group G phase which took place on Wednesday, November 26 evening WIB, Persib is scheduled to visit the Singapore representative headquarters. Lion City Sailor. From the meeting at Bishan Stadium, Singapore, Maung Bandung lost first.

Marc Klok and colleagues closed the match with a final score of 2-3. From that match, Bojan Hodak as the coach considered that there were several mistakes that the referee did not see and should have been reviewed by VAR.

"I think the Champions League should have been used by VAR. I complained about the second goal because there was a violation before that (a goal occurred)," said Bojan Hodak about the course of the match, quoted from the club's official website on Thursday, November 27.

According to Hodak, the Lion City Star goal scored by Shawal Anuar (62') was peppered with violations first. However, the referee led by Ammar Ebrahim Mahfood did not see it with the same glasses.

From this incident, Bojan encouraged the AFC as the Asia competition regulator to immediately use VAR, as has been implemented in Indonesia's domestic competition, the Super League.

"So, of course, the referee needs VAR. When playing in a competition that invests a lot of money, of course there should be VAR," Hodak criticized.

With this inaugural defeat, Persib Bandung's hope to escape calmly to the knockout phase is clearly hampered. Because previously Persib only needed one additional point to get through this phase but the target point missed.
