Get Ready, The Ministry Of Transportation Will Provide A Free Homecoming For Christmas And New Homecoming

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will present a free homecoming program during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays. The modes of transportation provided vary.

Deputy Minister of Transportation (Wamenhub) Suntana said this free homecoming is an annual program issued by the Ministry of Transportation. This year, the program is again presented.

Just like last year, continued Suntana, free homecoming this time there will be a choice of transportation mode. Starting from Free Motorcycle Homecoming or Motik by train and also by ship.

"Like last year, we the government carried out free homecoming. For good people who use buses later at several terminals, as well as our brothers and sisters who will ride motorbikes. Later, there will be several trains and ports that will transport them," he said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 26.

When asked about the quota prepared for this year, Suntana said it would be announced in the near future. Even so, he ensured that the quota would be much higher than last year.

"Of course we will officially announce the amount, because I also believe that apart from being implemented by the government, friends from SOEs will also do the same, including the Governor of DKI will carry out the same. But the number will definitely be more than last year," said Suntana.

Furthermore, Suntana said that the free homecoming program was presented with the aim of reducing traffic accidents during Nataru transportation.

"Indeed, to reduce sea accidents on trips," he said.
