Coordinating Minister Airlangga Makes Sure There Are No Automotive Incentives Next Year, The Ministry Of Industry Is Still Studying

JAKARTA - Incentives for the automotive industry in the coming year do not seem to have reached a bright spot, because the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed that no incentives will be given.

"Next year's incentives don't exist because the industry is strong enough, especially since there is already this exhibition (GJAW)," he told reporters at ICE BSD, Wednesday, November 26.

The statement appears to confirm that the proposed incentives are developing, not yet leading and final. When asked about the submission from the Ministry of Industry, he did not answer clearly.

"Yes, it is being studied but there is no (decision) yet," he added.

Previously, the Ministry of Industry through the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, revealed that it was reviewing incentives for the automotive industry.

"Yes, we are currently compiling it, and the automotive incentives are in my opinion a must, yes, because sectors are too important, very, very important. SBIN (National Industrialization New Strategy), our strategy is to look at the backward and forward linkage of every manufacturing activity," Agus said at the GJAW 2025 arena, ICE-BSD City, Tangerang, Wednesday, November 26.

According to him, the largest reward and forward linkage are in the automotive sector. So indeed the government should also prepare incentives for the automotive sector in 2026.

"Don't ask the type of incentive, we are currently compiling the form of incentives," added Agus.
