Andi Arief Desak Panglima TNI-Kapolri-Menhub Explains Allegations Of Illegal Airports In Morowali
JAKARTA - Democrat Party politician Andi Arief asked officials of Indonesian law enforcement institutions and related agencies to provide explanations regarding the news that airports operate without state authority in the Morowali industrial area, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi).
The news became increasingly public attention after the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin reviewed the TNI training in Morowali and informed that there were no customs and immigration at PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park Airport (IMIP).
"The Commander of the TNI, the Chiefs of Staff of the TNI, the Head of BIN, the National Police Chief, the Minister of Transportation did not know before that there was a "foreign country" airport in Morowali?" Andi said on his X account, Wednesday, November 26.
Previously, the same spotlight also came from the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), Tamsil Linrung. According to him, the existence of an airport operating in the era of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in 2019 is like the concept of a "state within the country".
Tamsil supports Minister of Defense Sjafrie's firm statement while reviewing the TNI's training in Morowali regarding the potential of "states within the country" at Morowali Airport.
The senator who was born in South Sulawesi also fully supports every decisive step taken by the government for the conditions that occurred at Morowali Airport.
"We must not allow the slightest amount of state assets controlled by the private sector illegally," he said after attending the MIND ID Directorial Public Lecture at the Rectorate of Unhas Tamalanrea, Makassar, Tuesday, November 26, which was confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the state should not allow this condition, especially the location according to the suspicion that it is wider than the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).
"And we have often listened to complaints if someone brings produce but not through immigration, not through excise costs, no taxes," said Tamsil.
