Lawyer Says Ira Puspadewi Knew She Was Getting Rehabilitation from Prabowo After Breaking the Fast

JAKARTA - Former Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Ira Puspadewi, learned about President Prabowo Subianto's rehabilitation program while breaking her fast on Tuesday evening, November 25th.

This was conveyed by lawyer Soesilo Ariwibowo after meeting with Ira at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention center today, November 26th. He stated that his client had known about Prabowo's rehabilitation program the previous evening.

"She knew about it since it was announced. After breaking her fast, she said she saw it," Soesilo told reporters.

Soesilo stated that his client never imagined receiving such attention from Prabowo Subianto.

Ira was found guilty by the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday, November 20th, for alleged corruption in the business cooperation (KSU) and acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero). She was sentenced along with former Director of Planning and Development of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, and former Director of Commercial and Service of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.

"No, I didn't have any idea. Yes, I just had a prayer about it," he emphasized.

Furthermore, Soesilo said Ira also appreciated President Prabowo Subianto's rehabilitation grant. "Yes, I'm happy. Thank you, thank God," the lawyer said.

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto signed a rehabilitation grant for three parties implicated in the alleged corruption in the business cooperation (KSU) and acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry. They are Ira Puspadewi, former Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry; Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, former Director of Planning and Development at PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry; and former Director of Commercial and Service at PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.

The decision was announced by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a press statement with Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Tuesday, November 25.

"Based on communications with the government, thank God, today, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, has signed the rehabilitation letter for the three names," he said.

Meanwhile, Asep Guntur Rahayu, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), expressed his respect for the rehabilitation of Ira Puspadewi and her colleagues. The three were found guilty by the Jakarta Corruption Court for alleged corruption in the acquisition and business cooperation (KSU) of PT Jembatan Nusantara on Thursday, November 20th.

"The KPK respects the rehabilitation decision granted by the President, as the President's prerogative, to the three directors of PT ASDP," Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building in Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, on Tuesday evening, November 25th.

Asep further emphasized that the KPK has carried out its duties in investigating the alleged corruption committed by Ira and her colleagues. "The investigators, prosecutors, and public prosecutors handling this case have formally tested our work with a pretrial motion, and we have passed that," he emphasized.

"This means that formally, what the investigators and prosecutors did was not a violation of the law," added Asep, who also serves as the Director of Investigations at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
