Ira Puspadewi Et Al Have Not Been Released From Detention Center, KPK Waits For Rehabilitation Decree
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that former President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Ira Puspadewi and friends are still in detention centers. They will only be released after the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) sends a decree.
"This morning we are still waiting for the rehabilitation decision letter as the basis for the withdrawal process from the detention center," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, November 26.
President Prabowo Subianto signed the granting of rehabilitation for three parties involved in alleged corruption in business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry. They are Ira Puspadewi as former Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry; former Director of Planning and Development of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, and former Commercial and Service Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
The decision was conveyed by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a press statement with Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the Presidential office, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 25.
"From the results of communication with the government, thank God there are today, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto has signed a letter of rehabilitation for the three names," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu stated that he respects the provision of rehabilitation for Ira Puspadewi, et al. The three of them are known to have been convicted by the Jakarta Corruption Court regarding the alleged corruption in the acquisition and business cooperation (KSU) of PT Jembatan Nusantara on Thursday, November 20.
"KPK respects the rehabilitation decision given by the President as the prerogative of the President to the three directors of PT ASDP," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, November 25.
Asep further emphasized that the KPK has carried out its duties in investigating allegations of corruption committed by Ira et al. Investigators, investigators and public prosecutors who handle this case formally, our work has been tested with pretrial submissions and we have also passed it," he said.
"This means that formally what investigators and investigators do does not violate the law," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigation.
