Ira Puspadewi Et Al Rehabilitated Prabowo, KPK Affirms Not Violating ASDP Corruption
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that there were no violations of the law when investigating allegations of corruption related to the acquisition and business cooperation (KSU) of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
This was conveyed by the acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu when he was asked about the rehabilitation given by President Prabowo Subianto to Ira Puspadewi as former President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) and two other directors.
According to him, no violations were committed by investigators or investigators and had been tested through the pretrial submitted by the three.
"Our work has been tested by filing a pretrial and we have also passed it. This means that formally what investigators and investigators do not violate the law," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 25 evening.
"In accordance with existing procedures. Then materially it has also been accounted for at trial," he continued.
Asep also mentioned that the three former directors of the state-owned company had also been sentenced by the Jakarta Corruption Court.
"So formally and materially it has been tested and has been completed. This means that after that our work has passed the material test, the formal test by winning the pretrial," he said.
Even so, the KPK cannot do much about granting rehabilitation to Ira Puspadewi et al.
"This is the prerogative of the president. We respect what has been decided by the President," said Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigations.
As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto signed the granting of rehabilitation for three parties involved in the legal case of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry. They are Ira Puspadewi as former Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry; former Director of Planning and Development of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, and former Commercial and Service Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
The decision was conveyed by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a press statement with Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the Presidential office, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 25.
"From the results of communication with the government, thank God there are today, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto has signed a letter of rehabilitation for the three names," he said.
He said the President was observing a series of communications between the DPR and the government regarding the dynamics of the case that has been sticking out since July 2024. Dasco explained, since the ASDP case rolled out, his party has received various complaints and aspirations from the public and community groups.
Following up on this, the leadership of the DPR asked Commission III as a legal sector partner to conduct an in-depth study of the progress of the investigation of the case. Meanwhile, Ira Puspadewi et al were found guilty in the corruption case of the acquisition and business cooperation (KSU) of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry. He was later sentenced to 4.5 years and a fine of IDR 500 million by the Jakarta Corruption Court.
Meanwhile, the former Director of Planning and Development of PT ASDP, Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, and former Director of Commercial and Services of PT ASDP, Muhammad Yusuf Hadi was sentenced to 4 years and a fine of Rp250 million. They were found guilty and committed corruption together as the second alternative indictment Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999.
