Pertamina Patra Niaga Inaugurates Revitalization Of Arun LPG Terminal
JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga inaugurated the revitalization project of the LPG Arun Terminal in Lhokseumawe, Aceh on Monday, November 24.
For information, the Arun LPG Terminal is one of the energy infrastructures that guarantees the supply of LPG for the community and industrial sectors in Aceh and the North Sumatra region.
This inauguration marks the completion of all revitalization stages that have been going on since 2017 and now demonstrates terminal readiness to operate with more optimal standards.
Director of Engineering & Land Infrastructure Pertamina Patra Niaga, Hari Purnomo explained, LPG Arun Terminal serves subsidized LPG (PSO) and non-subsidized LPG distribution (Non-PSO) for communities in Aceh and North Sumatra.
"As of August 2025, the average realization of the distribution has reached around 476 Metric Tons (MT) per day, of which 1 MT is equivalent to 1,000 kilograms which reflects the large energy needs in both provinces," he said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, November 25.
Furthermore, Hari explained, this revitalization changed the supply pattern of LPG in Aceh and North Sumatra to be more efficient.
With the operation of updated and large capacity facilities, the supply flow that previously had to go through several stages can now be carried out directly.
Previously, the supply of LPG for Aceh and North Sumatra had to go through Tanjung Uban, then it was broken down by a mid-size ship and again reported by small boats before finally being brought by trucks to various regions. This process is long and the logistics costs are large. With the revitalization of the LPG Arun Terminal, large-capacity VLGC ships can now directly lean and supply propane and blind to Arun. Of course, the existence of the Arun terminal is very helpful for our efficiency and operational productivity," explained Hari.
