Pakistan Airstrike Death Toll On Afghanistan: 9 Children, 1 Woman
JAKARTA - Afghanistan's Taliban government on Tuesday, November 25 accused Pakistan of launching airstrikes targeting three provinces east of its country overnight.
Citing AFP, the attack killed 10 civilians, including nine children. The moment marked the deteriorating relationship between the two neighboring countries.
Afghanistan's Main Government Spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on his X account that Pakistan was "bombing" the home of a civilian in Khost province, killing nine children and a woman.
He said additional attacks were carried out in Kunar and Paktika provinces, injuring four other people.
The military and the Pakistani government have yet to comment on accusations by the Afghan Taliban government.
A day earlier on Monday, November 24, a deadly attack took place in northwestern Pakistan's Peshawar City, where two suicide bombers and a gunman stormed the Federal Police headquarters.
In that incident, as many as three officers were killed, and 11 others were injured.
No group has claimed responsibility for Peshawar's attack, but suspicions are immediately directed at the Pakistani Taliban, or Pakistan's Tehrik-e-Taliban.
Tehrik-e-Taliban is a separate group, but is closely aligned with the Afghan Taliban, and many of its leaders are hiding in Afghanistan.
Clashes between Afghan-Pakistan forces in the border areas of the two countries erupted since a month ago. Clashes came after the Afghan government claimed a drone strike or Pakistani drone hit Kabul.
