Makes A Commotion! Woman's Body In Life Coffin Again
JAKARTA - The body of the woman in the coffin made a commotion because she was alive again. The body that was supposed to be cremated suddenly moved in a coffin that shocked the temple staff.
Wat Rat Prakhong Tham, a Buddhist temple in the province of Nonthaburi, a suburb of Bangkok, posted a video on his Facebook page, showing a woman lying in a white coffin in a pickup truck tub, moving her hands and head slightly.
Pairat SoodtHOP, manager of public affairs and temple finance, told the Associated Press, the 65-year-old's brother escorted her from Phitsanulok province to be cremated.
The temple said they heard a faint knock from the coffin.
"I was a bit surprised, so I asked them to open the coffin, and everyone was shocked," he said.
"I saw him open his eyes a little bit and knocked on the side of the coffin. He must have knocked for a long time," he continued.
According to Pairat, his brother, his younger brother, lay in bed for about two years, when his health worsened and was non-responsive.
He seemed to have stopped breathing two days ago. The brother then placed him in a coffin and traveled 500 kilometers (300 miles) to a hospital in Bangkok, where the woman had previously expressed her desire to donate organs.
The hospital rejected the brother's offer because he did not have an official death certificate.
The temple offered a free cremation service, so the woman's brother came on Sunday. But at that time the request for cremation was also rejected because the documents were lost.
After causing a stir because of the tap from the coffin, the temple decided to take the woman to the nearest hospital.
The principal said the temple would bear its medical expenses.
