Gus Yahya Urged To Resign, PKB Refuses To Participate In Problems At PBNU

The leadership of the National Awakening Party (PKB) has refused to interfere in the internal chaos of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board after the name KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya), was pressured to resign as chairman.

"That's at PBNU, we (PKB) don't get involved," said Deputy Chairperson of PKB, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 25.

Cucun was also reluctant to comment on the emergence of pressure on Gus Yahya. Is it because he has invited pro-Israeli speakers, or the struggle for a mining concession.

"No, we don't get involved, children can't follow parents' issues, parents' business," he said.

The Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives emphasized that he personally did not know anything about the chaos that was within PBNU.
