Viral Anies Baswedan No Problem Branded Kadrun In History Today, November 25, 2021

JAKARTA Memories of today, four years ago, November 25, 2021, Anies Baswedan's statement that there was no problem being labeled by Kadrun viral on social media. Anies saw that he could not control people's thoughts whether they liked him or not. Previously, Kadrun was often associated with groups inhabited by narrow-minded people.

The group is influenced by fundamentalism from the Middle East. Common nicknames arise for those who are against the government and the policies of Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The political world is full of dynamics. Moreover, when Jokowi and Prabowo Subianto are preparing to compete again in the 2019 presidential election, their supporters have their respective nicknames. Jokowi's supporters are known as tadpoles. Prabowo supporters are kamprets.

Competition between tadpoles is everywhere. Synergizing between the two was also present. Later, a group against the government emerged nicknamed the desert lizard (kadrun). The nickname was given by Jokowi's hardline supporters to those who were considered narrow-minded.

A group that is seen as influenced by fundamentalism from the Middle East. The group is often associated with those of Arab descent. Anyone who actively criticizes Jokowi is considered kadrun. Moreover, when they are ulama and of Arab descent.

Recently, the term is considered to be attached to Anies Baswedan. The Governor of DKI Jakarta is considered an important part of Kadrun. In fact, Kadrun was also associated with Anies and his supporters. This condition is because Anies is seen as his political opponent who has used identity politics in the 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilgub.

Religious sentiment is played by Anies supporters. On average, they are against Jokowi's government. This condition made Anies able to win. Supporters also consider Anies as the future leader of Indonesia.

Inevitably, the term Kadrun Bak is attached to Anies Baswedan. Anies is considered to have fulfilled the characteristics of a Kadrun. Anies is considered of Arab descent, contrary to Jokowi's policy in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anies considers that he cannot control all people's thoughts about him. He just released himself. The statement went viral everywhere the day after November 25, 2020.
