Chinese Electric Cars Dominate The Top Position Regarding Acceleration Of 0100 Km/hour

JAKARTA Electric cars from Chinese brands dominate the list of acceleration standings 0100 km/hour of global production vehicles. This is based on data released by the AutoLab research institute.

The dominance can be seen from the top three positions filled entirely by Chinese manufacturers, as reported by Carnewschina, Tuesday, November 25. The first place is GAC Hyptec SSR 2024 Sprint Speed Edition.

The car was able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 1.9 seconds. The second position was taken by Xiaomi SU7 Ultra with a time of 1.98 seconds, while the third rank was filled with Zeekr 001 FR model 2025 which recorded a time of 2.02 seconds.

In addition to acceleration performance, the list also displays global prices for each model. GAC Hyptec SSR is recorded to have a price tag of around 194,000 US dollars. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is marketed in the range of 74,200 US dollars, while Zeekr 001 FR is at 107,700 US dollars.

This data shows that China's new energy vehicle manufacturers continue to strengthen their position in terms of performance, even surpassing a number of global brands. In fourth place occupied by the Tesla Model S 2023 Tri-Motor AWD with a time of 2.1 seconds, followed by Porsche Taycan which posted a time of 2.2 seconds.

The dominance is not only limited to the top three. A number of other Chinese models also fill the top 11 to 20 positions, including IM L6, other variants of Xiaomi SU7, Zeekr 007, and Yangwang U7.

The list highlights a wide range of prices, from the most affordable, four-wheeled BYD Han L, at prices below 40,000 US dollars, to the most expensive Lamborghini Revuelto, which is priced close to $881,300.

On the other hand, there is a regulatory discourse in China that is being studied. Local authorities are reportedly considering a new national standard that will require active passenger vehicles to have an acceleration capability of 0100 km/hour of no more than five seconds.

Industrially, this development illustrates the shift in the global electric car performance competition map. Acceleration performance is no longer an exclusive region of European and American brands.
