Actor And Bollywood Icon, Dharmandra Dies

JAKARTA - Sad news came from Bollywood. Dharmandra, an Indian actor who died in Mumbai on Monday, November 24.

A number of local news reported that Dharmandra had been sick for several weeks and was taken to hospital. But he died today.

This sad news received condolences from various high-ranking officials, one of the Prime Ministers of India who wrote, Dharmandra's death marked the end of the era of Indian cinema.

Dharmandra is an actor born in Nasrali, India on December 8, 1935. He is one of the actors who has entered politics.

He was married twice, namely Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur and was blessed with six children. During his career, he was nicknamed Garam Badminton, a term for a handsome man even though he refused the nickname.

Starting his acting career with Dil Bhi Tera, Hum Bhi Tere in 1960, he began starring in various drama films before changing the action genre.

His last role was the film Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, where he played the father of a soldier. His first trailer was released today for the film which will air on 8 Daesember.

In addition to acting, he also produced several film titles, most of which were played by some of his children who entered the world of acting.

Dharmandra died at the age of 89.
