The Tony Blair-Wapres Palestinian Meeting Discusses The Right To Determination Of Its Own Fate
JAKARTA - Tony Blair, who is said to be appointed to lead a temporary government in the Gaza Strip, met Palestinian Authority Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh to discuss his own right to self-determination after the Israeli regime's attack.
According to news agency Wafa quoted from AN, yesterday's meeting in Ramallah local time also focused on issues related to Israel's occupied West Bank, particularly the requirement to achieve self-determination and Palestinian statehood.
His second meeting also followed the emergence of UN Security Council resolutions last week, which included the deployment of International Stabilization Troops in Gaza and reconstruction plans as well as regional governance.
During the meeting, it was discussed as a result of efforts to assist US President Donald Trump as well as mediators from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, and the European Union.
Apart from Tony Blair and the Palestinian Vice President, the meeting was attended by Major General Majid Faraj, head of the General Intelligence Agency, adviser to the president for diplomatic affairs Majdi Al-Khaldi, presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina, and US representatives.
Blair served as quartet's special envoy for the Middle East from 2007 to 2015. He is expected to play a role in the Gaza government, which will oversee funding and rebuilding the region.
