KPK Questions The Validity Of Paulus Tannos' Pretrial Who Was A Fugitive
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned the validity of the pretrial filed by the suspect in the corruption case of the Electronic KTP procurement project (e-KTP), Paulus Tannos.
This was conveyed by the KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo, who initially alluded to his institution's legal bureau team coming to the pretrial hearing of Paulus Tannos at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) today, November 24.
"In addition to reading the preper application by PT, we also plan to convey the validity of a person (who is included in, red) on the wanted list or DPO to file a pretrial," Budi told reporters at the ACLC KPK RI building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.
Budi said the status of Paulus Tannos, who was once on the wanted list, needs to be considered by the judge. "(This, ed) is in accordance with SEMA Number 1 of 2018," he said.
The Supreme Court Circular (SEMA) Number 1 of 2018 contains a ban on filing pretrial for suspects who have fled or are in the status of a wanted list (DPO).
"In the event that the suspect escapes or is in the status of the wanted list, the pretrial application cannot be submitted," the regulation reads.
"If the pretrial application is still applied by the legal advisor or his family, then the judge imposes a decision stating that the pretrial application is unacceptable."
