Heavy Equipment Operator Arrested While Enveloping Forests In Kutai National Park
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) managed to secure MR in the case of forest addition using heavy equipment in Kutai National Park (TN), East Kalimantan (Kaltim).
Head of the Forestry Law Enforcement Center (Gakkum) of the Kalimantan Region of the Ministry of Forestry, Leonardo Gultom, in a statement said that MR was secured on Wednesday (19/11) after being caught red-handed carrying out excavations and peeling of the interior of the Kutai TN area to stock up and build a rocky dock road.
"Synergy with conservation area managers in the context of securing areas and law enforcement is very important and is one of our priorities. Our investigators will investigate and reveal that there are other actors and actors involved in this activity," explained Head of the Balai Gakkum Forestry for the Kalimantan Region Leonardo, quoted by Antara, Monday 24 November.
The arrests began with a forest security patrol activity at the Kutai National Park Center which encountered illegal C excavation activities using heavy equipment, which was followed up by securing the operator of heavy equipment excavators at the location.
Security of evidence of excavators was carried out by the Kutai TN Patrol Team together with the Gakkumhut Balai Kalimantan Operation Team.
Because of his actions, he said, MR received a maximum prison sentence of 10 years and a maximum fine of IDR 7.5 billion.

Director General of Forestry Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Forestry Dwi Januanto Nugroho said in a similar statement that in order to preserve the conservation area, the Directorate General of Law and Human Rights is committed to law enforcement against various activities that damage conservation areas.
