Data Of BPJS Health Participants Leaked In Online Forum, MCC Legislators: Not Messing Around, Must Investigate!
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Netty Prasetiyani Aher asked the government and authorities to immediately follow up on the case of data leak of BPJS Kesehatan participants that were sold in an online forum.
He hopes the government doesn't let such repeat cases protract without clarity.
"If the alleged sale of data is true, then this is not a playful matter!," Netty said, Monday, May 24.
He stressed that the issue concerns the guarantee of data protection of BPJS participants that can not be announced to the public, let alone until traded. Because in the data, recorded the identity of someone who should be protected safely.
"BPJS Kesehatan must be able to account for this problem properly and transparently. The government and authorities should immediately follow up on this case and do not let it protract without clarity," he said.
Furthermore, Netty is concerned that this BPJS Kesehatan data leak will decrease public interest to become participants and utilize BPJS Kesehatan in the government JKN program.
Moreover, he said, currently the level of participation of BPJS Kesehatan as JKN program still has not met the target. Socialization programs are still being launched to attract people to become independent participants.
"By sticking up this case, it will certainly decrease the trust and interest of the community. It could make the public more skeptical of BPJS, there are still many problems with the service, now coupled with the issue of insecurity of personal data," said the vice chairman of the MCC Faction of the House of Representatives.
Netty promised to prompt an in-depth investigation into the alleged leak of millions of data from BPJS Kesehatan participants.
He will ask Commission IX of the House of Representatives as a partner of BPJS Kesehatan to call the board of Directors of BPJS Kesehatan to explain the chronology and sit the issue transparently so that the alleged case of buying and selling data arises.
'An in-depth investigation is important so we know exactly what happened and who was involved in this embarrassing incident. The person and the network involved must receive severe sanctions," netty said.
