Obligation To Law 30 Percent Of RTH, Jakarta Instead Sets The Target Of Half

JAKARTA - Assistant for the Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Suharini Eliawati, revealed that the DKI Provincial Government is targeting the expansion of green open space (RTH) in Jakarta to reach 15 percent.

Meanwhile, Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning mandates that each city must have a minimum of 30 percent of its territory. In detail, 20 percent of public green open space is provided by local governments and 10 percent of private green open space is provided by private parties or building and housing owners.

"Indeed, this is how the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts at least RTH will increase to more than 10 or 15 percent," said Suharini at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, November 24.

Suharini said, currently, the total area of green open space in Jakarta as of September 2025 still reaches 5.45 percent, with an area of around 3,605 hectares.

In the leadership of the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, the construction of green open space is one of the priority programs of the DKI Provincial Government for the next five years.

It is noted that currently the construction of green open spaces is located in 21 locations. "A big one of them is the green open space Cempaka Putih Bintaro, then RTH Pratama, and the green open space in Pandawa Park that we know is Censorship," said Suharini.

What is currently underway is the construction of the Heritage Flag Park which integrates three parks in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, namely Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Leuser Park. In line with this, the DKI Provincial Government has also started to open or activate city parks for 24 hours.

"In addition to opening 24-hour parks, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also process the current three parks in the South Jakarta area," he explained.
