Weather Monday: Rain Almost Evenly In The Country, Beware Of Lightning In Several Cities
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority in big cities in Indonesia can experience rainy weather with various intensity, Monday, November 24.
BMKG forecaster Sastia Frista in an online weather forecast followed by Antara Jakarta, Monday morning said that in the Sumatra area, Bandar Lampung City is predicted to experience thick cloudy weather today.
Meanwhile, said Sastia, light rain is predicted to fall in Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Pangkal Pinang. Then moderate intensity rain in Palembang and Medan, while rain accompanied by lightning in Pekanbaru and Padang.
"On the island of Java, it is predicted that there will be thick clouds in Serang and Jakarta, then light rain in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya, and be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in Semarang," he explained.
For the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, BMKG predicts light rain will fall in Denpasar, Mataram, and Kupang, today.
He also explained that in big cities in Kalimantan there is the potential to experience rain of various intensity today, including light rain in Samarinda and rain accompanied by lightning in Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin.
In the Sulawesi region, BMKG predicts thick cloudy conditions in Manado and Kendari, light rain in Palu and Gorontalo as well as moderate rain in Mamuju and Makassar.
In eastern Indonesia, thick cloudy weather is predicted by BMKG to be experienced by those in Sorong and Nabire, light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, Jayawijaya and Merauke, as well as moderate-intensity rain in Jayapura.

Meanwhile, BMKG predicts that a number of cities will experience high temperatures, including Kupang and Pontianak, with temperatures forecasting up to 33 degrees Celsius.
"For those who live in Denpasar, Mataram, Kupang, Pontianak and its surroundings, they are aware of the predicted temperature ranging from 31-33 degrees Celsius," he said.
