Local Work Makin Kompetitif, Bootcamp AKTIF Kemenekraf Born Six Finalists Towards 2025

JAKARTA - Indonesia's creative industry continues to show its competitiveness. Through the Bootcamp for Creative Acceleration (AKTIF), the Ministry of Creative Economy has netted the six best local works that are considered the most ready to compete on the Asia TV & Forum Market (ATF) 2025, an important stage for Asia Pacific creators.

After all, 2025 is a leading global forum for the television and entertainment industry dedicated to the Asia Pacific region that brings together professionals from the entertainment industry for networking, doing business, and discussing future trends in the Asian market. The 2025 screening will be held from December 2 to 5, 2025 at theturbation Expo & Convention Center in Singapore.

Deputy for Media Creativity Agustini Rahayu said that the Bootcamp AKTIF was previously attended by 70 participants and was designed to increase talent capacity through strengthening distribution, promotion, and developing intellectual property business models, as part of the creative work commercialization line acceleration strategy.

After the selection was carried out, said Agustini, six works were selected to represent Indonesia at the Asia TV & Market Forum (ATF) 2025. Consisting of three films and three animation IPs.

From the film sector, selected works include the FIlm Komik Champion by director and producer Dwitya Yoga Dharmawangsa, the Film Pelabuhan Berkabut (Fish, Please) directed by Haris Yulianto with producers Annisa Dewi and Ivan Valentinus, as well as the film Bong (Of Womb and Tomb) by Director Destian Rendra and Producer Nasir Rustiawan.

In addition to the film sub-sector, the Ministry of Creative Economy's ACTIVEs also produced three animation IPs that are ready to appear in 2025. The three selected works are Kamanong by Ida Bagus Aditya and Gilang Bhagaskara, Kwartet: Watu Jiwo Series directed by Dieky Suprayogi, and Galeo Of SeaWalkers created by Andara Fembriarto.

"This Bootcamp winner has the opportunity to compete in the forum as part of the creative acceleration program that we encourage," said Agustini, in an official statement, on Sunday, November 23.

Through the ACTIVE Bootcamp, he said, the Ministry of Creative Economy strengthens the film and animation sub-sector ecosystem by preparing talents who are not only superior creatively, but also understand business distribution and sustainability strategies, so that they can compete in regional and global markets.

Agustini said that his party hopes that this creative economy will be able to provide added value to the national creative industry. In addition, it is also expected to be a driving force for the national economy or the new engine of growth.

Based on data from the Box Office Talk, the number of viewers of Indonesian films until mid-November 2025 has reached around 65 million viewers. In addition, data from the Indonesian Cinema Entrepreneurs Association (GPBSI) on the number of national films released in theaters in 2025 amounted to 178 film titles.

"If you look at it, it's not just wishful thinking, but it will be seen from the data figure, this creative economy is a very good potential to work on together. From the ministry or deputy of the country's implementing it cannot be alone. It must be with an association and even direct creator to realize the new engine of growth," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Animated and Creative Industry Association (AINAKI) Total Wilson emphasized that the selection process focuses on originality, commercial potential, and the readiness of presentation materials.

"Because this is connected to death, of course the commercialization aspect is very important. The readiness of the pitch bible is also crucial because you will meet potential partners, business partners, and investors. You have to be ready," he explained.

Komik Champion Representative, Rigita Andianti said that bootcamp provides a comprehensive understanding of the film business.

"I learned how films are not only as IPs, but develop into other sustainable products and form an integrated industrial ecosystem from exhibitions, distributions, to publications," he said.

Similarly, the producer of the film Film Pelabuhan Berkabut (Fish, Please) Ivan Valentinus assessed that this training changed his perspective as a producer.

"So far I've only focused on making films, but here I'm taught how to sell them and find new viewers. There are no old or new films, the important thing is how to reach the audience properly," he said.

Meanwhile, Galeo Of SeaWalkers Creator Andara Fembriarto expressed his enthusiasm for choosing their work to appear at the 2025 scene. According to him, this bootcamp provides comprehensive briefing outside of the creative aspect.

"It's no longer about creating, but how we are taught our business, the law, to how to apply practical and directly. The material is very grounded and helpful," he said.

Kreator Kamarong Ida Bagus Aditya menilai AKTIF membuka pemahaman baru terkait aspek legal dan pengelolaan anggaran.

"Through this bootscamp, I learned a lot about legal and budgeting which I previously lacked. The knowledge I can have a huge impact and want to share with the animation community in Bali," he said.
