Sumatran Tiger Children Trapped In Agam Successfully Rescued By BKSDA Team
LUBUK BASUNG - Sumatran tiger cubs (Panthera tigris sumatrae) who were caught in a pig trap belonging to Nagari Koto Tabang community, Palupuh District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, have now been evacuated by the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA).
Head of the Conservation Resort Region II Maninjau of the West Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Ade Putra in Lubuk Basung, said that Sumatran tiger cubs were evacuated using drugs carried out by the West Sumatra BKSDA Medical Team and the Kinantan Wildlife and Cultural Park Medical Team (TMBK) of Bukittinggi City.
"The Sumatran tiger cub fell asleep after receiving an anesthetic and was immediately evacuated," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, November 22.
He said that after falling asleep, the Sumatran tiger cub was immediately taken to the Bukittinggi City TMBK for observation and maintenance.

Previously, a Sumatran tiger cub was caught in a pig snare that was installed by local residents on their land.
The report was received from the jorong guardian on Saturday (22/11) at around 13.00 WIB and West Sumatra BKSDA officers went directly to the location for evacuation with the Bukittinggi Police, Palupuh Police, 12 Palupuh Koramil, Nagari Children Patrol Team (Pagari) and Riau University Forestry Students.
The snare hit the neck, front leg and body.
"Tiger cubs are alive and cannot escape from the snares," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Palupuh Police, Iptu Muhammad Raufudding Silitonga, added that his party had dispatched personnel to secure the evacuation of the Sumatran tiger cub.
"Security also involves members of the Intelkam Polres Bukittinggi, Shabara Polres Bukittinggi and Koramil 12 Palupuh," he said.
With this incident, he appealed to residents not to install pig snares at plantation sites that have an impact on protected animals in the form of Sumatran tigers, bears and others.
