Erick Thohir Ensures Toilets At All Free Gas Stations In Today's Memory, November 22, 2021

JAKARTA Memories today, four years ago, November 22, 2021, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir ensured that toilets at Pertamina and Private gas stations had to be free. Toilets are considered public facilities and must be free.

Erick advised the gas station owner to make a profit by selling fuel. Previously, toilets at gas stations were never really free. Some of them are often charged. Erick also reviewed it himself. He witnessed people going to the toilet having to pay and be annoying.

Paid gas station toilets are common knowledge. Anyone who wants to enjoy the facility, must have to spend it voluntarily. The levy is between Rp. 2,000 and Rp. 5,000. Recently, the issue of paying for toilets has begun to be burdensome.

Pertamina was confirmed. They justify the existence of levies for toilets. However, the levy is seen as voluntary. Those who want to pay are allowed. Those who do not want to have a problem.

The money from paying for toilets is used to maintain cleanliness. Usually to pay for those who clean the toilet. The answer reached Erick Thohir's family. The SOE minister tried to directly inspect one of Pertamina's gas stations.

The results of the inspection were spread on his social media on November 22, 2021. He found a paid toilet there. There are also guards. Erick Thohir was furious that he was not playing. Erick considered the pay as illegal levies (extortion) and was not voluntary.

The toilet guard also provided information that his duties were in accordance with the direction of the gas station officer. Erick immediately took a stand. He made sure toilets at gas stations are public facilities that must be free. Gas station owners were also asked not to make money from toilets. This is because Erick considers gas stations to have made a big profit from selling fuel.

Not to mention the business of shops rented to those who want to do business in the gas station area. As a result, Erick ensured that Pertamina and private gas stations had to be free.

"I ask Pertamina's directors to fix it, and I ask that later all cooperation with private gas stations under Pertamina and the toilets cannot be paid for. It must be free. I hope public facilities like this should be free, because they already get from selling gasoline. That's how there are grocery stores. Erick's decision to free all toilets at Pertamina and Private gas stations will be followed up immediately. The whole community appreciates Erick's steps. No one disagrees with Erick's steps. Because, several times changing the leader of Pertamina toilets is always paid.
