Gus Ipul Asks The Management To Stay Calm Amid The Internal Dynamics Of PBNU

JAKARTA - PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf called on all NU administrators at all levels starting from PBNU, PWNU, PCNU, MWCNU to Ratting NU to remain calm and keep the atmosphere conducive to the dynamics that are happening within the organization.

The man who is usually called Gus Ipul emphasized that what is happening at this time is an ordinary organizational case that is being handled by the PBNU Syuriah ranks according to the applicable internal mechanism.

"This is the dynamics of an ongoing organization. I ask all NU administrators and residents to remain calm, not to be carried away by misleading news flows, and not to enlarge misunderstandings," said Gus Ipul as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 21.

He asked all NU administrators at various levels to continue to consolidate, maintain ukhuwah, and refrain from steps or statements that can make things worse.

"Follow all developments only through official information submitted by the PBNU Syuriah ranks. Don't be influenced by unclear news," he said.

According to him, the entire organizational process is currently in the hands of the highest authority owners in the PBNU structure, namely the PBNU Syuriah ranks led by Rais Aam and two Rais Aam representatives.

"We leave it entirely to Rais Aam and his representatives. God willing, everything will be resolved properly, proportionally, and according to the organization," he said.

Gus Ipul also invited all NU residents to increase their prayer beads and maintain calm. He ensured that the internal dynamics of PBNU would be resolved through a legitimate and careful organizational mechanism.

"Let's keep the atmosphere in the shade. Expand the prayer beads, don't participate in spreading uncertain news," he said.

Previously, the results of the PBNU Syuriyah daily meeting circulated asking PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf to resign from the chair of the general chairman.

There were a number of points that became the spotlight and finally became the reason for Gus Yahya's request to resign.

First, the meeting views the invitation of resource persons related to the International Zionism network at the Nahdlatul Ulama National Leadership Academy (AKN NU) as resource persons for the highest level of NU regeneration that violated the values and teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah An Nahdliyah and contradicted Muqaddimah Qanun Asasi NU.

Second, the meeting views that the implementation of AKN NU with speakers related to the International Zionist network in the midst of the practice of genocide and international condemnation of Israel has complied with the provisions of Article 8 letter a of the NU Association Regulation Number 13 of 2025 concerning Dismissal of Functionaries, Inter-Time Change and Delegation of Position Functions, which regulates the dishonorable dismissal of functionaries because the person concerned has committed acts that defame the Association.

Third, the meeting views that financial governance within PBNU indicates violations of shara law, provisions of applicable laws and regulations, Article 97-99 of the NU Household Budget and applicable NU Association Regulations, as well as having dangerous implications for the existence of the Legal Entity of the NU Association.

By considering the points 1, 2 and 3 above, the Syuriyah Daily Meeting decided to fully submit the decision-making to Rais Aam and two Deputy Rais Aam.

The meeting between Rais Aam and two Deputy Rais Aam decided that KH Yahya Cholil Staquf must resign from the position of General Chair of PBNU within three days from the receipt of the decision of the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting.

If within three days he does not resign, the PBNU Syuriyah Daily Meeting has decided to dismiss KH Yahya Cholil Staquf as Chairman of PBNU.
