KKP Stops Activities Of Three Companies In Southeast Sulawesi, Allegedly Violating Provisions For The Utilization Of Marine Space
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has taken firm steps by temporarily stopping sea space utilization activities in three locations in the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Province.
The action was carried out because the three companies were proven to have carried out activities without legal licensing documents.
The Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the KKP Pung Nugroho Saksono said the Special Police Team for Coastal and Small Islands Management (PWP3K Police) had sealed the activities of PT TMN covering an area of 3.7 hectares (ha) and PT GBU covering an area of 0.7 ha in South Konawe, on Monday, November 17.
Two days later, the KKP again stopped the operation of another company in North Konawe, namely PT DMS.
The company was found to have used an area of 5.9 ha of marine space without a suitability permit for Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (PKKPRL) and violated the provisions of the reclamation permit.
"The use of the sea space in the three locations has been temporarily suspended, because the results of the supervision by the PWP3K Police have violated the provisions for the use of marine space," said the man who is familiarly called Ipunk in his official statement, quoted Friday, November 21.
Ipunk explained that this firm action was a follow-up to independent supervision and a quick response to public complaints that were restless about these illegal activities.
According to him, this step is proof of the state's presence in maintaining marine and coastal resources from potential damage due to activities that are not in accordance with the rules.
By regulation, this temporary suspension action refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Number 30 of 2021.
The government requires every business actor using the sea space to pocket PKKPRL as regulated in Permen KP Number 28 of 2021 and PP Number 28 of 2025 concerning Risk-Based Business Licensing.

In the future, the KKP ensures that the legal process does not stop at the closure of the location alone. Ipunk emphasized that his party will process this violation further to provide a deterrent effect for business actors who ignore licensing.
"Regarding the violations of the three companies, the PSDKP ranks will conduct an in-depth examination and sanctions will be imposed in accordance with applicable regulations," he added.
