Perplexity Launches AI-powered Comet Browser On Android

JAKARTA The Perplexity, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company, officially presents its AI browser to Android, namely Comet. This debut is a continuation of Comet's launch on desktop in July 2025.

Now, users can access browsers state-of-the-art, not just for regular searches. Comet can be downloaded via the Google Play Store or official website from OpenAI in various parts of the world, including in Indonesia.

Perplexity brings most of the capabilities of the desktop Comet version to the Android platform. Users can now designate Perplexity as their default search engine for a smarter search experience.

By using Comet, users can interact with AI assistants in depth. Users can also mention certain tabs specifically to ask assistants questions about the content in them.

In addition, this browser has sound mode that allows users to ask about all tabs that are opened simultaneously. The assistant can also summarize search information spread across various tabs that are currently open.

Perplexity claims that Comet is capable of doing complex research. Users can also see what Comet assistants are doing to complete the task.

This Android version of the Comet browser will be equipped with a built-in ad blocking. The presence of ad blocking increases the speed of exploration and provides a cleaner browsing experience.

The company states that Android is a priority for launches due to high demand from operators and OEMs to include Comets on their devices. So far, no official partnership has been announced by Perplexity.

Perplexity plans to upgrade Comet by adding conversation agents to explore websites, fast action shortcuts, and password managers in the coming weeks. The iOS version will be released in the near future.
