ToD Dukuh Atas Arrangement Starting January 2026, Pramono Wants Ciliwung River To Be A Hangout Place
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung ensured that the arrangement of the Dukuh Atas transit oriented development (TOD) area, Central Jakarta will begin in January 2026.
This plan coincides with the optimization of the space below, including the Ciliwung River area in the Dukuh Atas area which will be presented as a new public space where residents can move or relax.
Pramono conveyed this while attending the Kick Off of the Clean and Healthy Movement with the River on Inspeksi Ciliwung Street, Pancoran, South Jakarta, together with the Indonesian Minister of Public Works (PU) Dodi Hanggodo.
"In early January we will start construction for TOD in Dukuh Atas as well as the Ciliwung River under which we will optimize, we will use it, which is a new hub for Jakarta residents to carry out activities or they relax in the Ciliwung River," said Pramono, Friday, November 21.
According to him, river conditions are now one of the main indicators seen by the world in assessing the quality of a city. He said the increase in Jakarta's ranking in the Global City Index was proof that improvements were starting to appear.
"The river is now an indicator of world assessment to assess whether the handling of the river is good or not. So, what we are doing in Jakarta right now, we will really carry out normalization and repairs," he said.
"This is reflected in the fact that currently Jakarta is new this year we can then increase its ranking from 74 to 71 by the Global City Index," he added.
Furthermore, Pramono revealed the plan to continue the normalization of the Ciliwung River with the construction of the embankment starting next year. The land acquisition process is already underway and is targeted to start at the beginning of next year.
"The land acquisition has begun and hopefully early next year it can be together. Land acquisition is carried out by the DKI Jakarta Government, for the construction of the embankment later by the Ministry of Public Works," said Pramono.
The two urban villages that are prioritized for land acquisition for Ciliwung normalization are Cililitan and Pengadegan. The DKI Provincial Government has prepared a land acquisition budget of 37 fields of IDR 111 billion in Cililitan for and 54 fields in Pengadegan of IDR 121 billion.

Apart from Ciliwung, Pramono said that normalization of a number of other rivers was also carried out immediately, including the 1.3-kilometer Krukut River which often causes flooding in the Kemang area.
"Why are we doing this? We know that if it is not done, the Kemang, Kemang Village, Kem Chicks areas, and so on will definitely be continuous flooding and the flooding has been very disturbing," he added.
