Jakarta Provincial Government Claims Brawl Decreased, Pramono: Humanist Approach More Effective

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said that brawls in the capital city experienced a significant decline.

"If you look at it, actually the brawl has decreased significantly because we did approach the groups without having to be exposed," Pramono said when met at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, November 21.

However, he has not been able to explain in detail the percentage decrease in cases of the brawl.

He said the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the police had also taken a humanist approach in various areas of Jakarta to reduce the number of brawls and raise awareness, especially in the youth sphere.

Not only that, he also wants to channel the energy of teenagers in a positive direction, one of which is by opening up jobs through job exchange exhibitions or job fairs.

"So why did we open job fair in some places, and on average we also gave this group the opportunity to be able to work in Jakarta," explained Pramono.

Previously, the East Jakarta City Government encouraged the younger generation to move from brawl behavior to positive and outstanding activities, including through sports.

One of them is Rivai Anwar alias Phalle, a young man from East Jakarta who successfully won the Boxing Gladiator event at the Satria Pakansari GOR, Bogor Regency in October 2025.

Phalle, who used to be known as a figure who is often involved in brawls, has now become an inspiration after winning the 70 kilogram boxing title by defeating his opponent from Bogor.

East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin assessed that Phalle's success was not just a sports achievement, but also a symbol of a positive change in youth in East Jakarta.

According to Munjirin, the Phalle story is a real example of energy and young spirit being directed to more productive things.
