Ministry Of Manpower Sanctions Company Workers 583 Foreign Workers Without Legal Documents
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has imposed a fine of IDR 588 million on companies in Banten that employ 583 foreign workers (TKA) without legal documents for the Plan to Use Foreign Workers (RPTKA).
"The company is subject to a fine of Rp. 588 million which has been deposited into the state treasury," said Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 20.
According to him, the action was the result of a report to the Menaker Report channel which was followed up by a labor control team from ministries and local governments.
In addition to fines, he said, the supervisory team had also issued an inspection note and required the company to stop the activities of the foreign workers until their work permit was issued.
His party also noted that in the last few months there have been dozens of similar complaints, with a total fine of Rp. 7 billion.
The Minister of Manpower also appealed to companies in the country to register their employees with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan social security, and asked to comply with all applicable regulations, including not detaining diplomas to employees who are no longer working in companies.
"If the diploma already has a circular and we ask for support from regional heads. If the chapter reaches the embezzlement of diplomas, it could be a criminal case," he said.
Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that the public can now report inappropriate salaries to termination of employment (PHK) to the government through the Menaker Report channel.
The channel can be accessed through the reporting site menaker.kemnaker.go.id.
Yassierli revealed that during the trial period, he received around 600 complaints. Most of the complaints are related to wages, social security, and come from workers.
Reports that become domains of the Ministry of Manpower will be immediately followed up with the labor inspector.
