South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office Searches 2 Provincial Government Offices Related To The Pineapple Bibit Corruption Case
MAKASSAR - Special Criminal Investigators of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office searched two offices within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and a third party partner office related to the investigation into the alleged corruption case in the procurement of pineapple seeds in 2024 with a budget value of Rp. 60 billion.
"We have been searching for documents from last afternoon, until this afternoon and tonight (searching). (There are) documents that we have taken from our partners, from the food crop service, horticulture regarding the proposal documents, and from the BKAD related to the disbursement of the budget," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the South Sulawesi Attorney General's Office, Rachmat Supriadi, to reporters, Thursday, November 20, reported by ANTARA.
The first search was carried out by investigators at the office of a private company (works in the procurement of pineapple seeds) in Gowa Regency, then at the Office of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government's Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Service (TPHBun) on Jalan Amirullah Makassar.
The third search at the Office of the Regional Finance and Assets Agency (BKAD) is located at the South Sulawesi Governor's Office Complex, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar City.
This case is related to allegations of inflating the price of pineapple seeds and procuring fictitious seeds.
"We conducted a search to obtain additional evidence related to the criminal act of corruption in the procurement of pineapple seeds in 2024," said Rachmat at the TPHBun Office, Jalan Amirullah Makassar.
The search at the TPHBun Office, investigators examined and took a number of documents from a number of local official rooms. Meanwhile, at the BKAD Office, investigators took documents in the body head room, while at the partner company the supporting documents were also confiscated.
The confiscation of these documents relates to the alleged corruption in the procurement of pineapple seeds for the 2024 fiscal year which is suspected to have been inflated. In addition, his party has examined witnesses related to this project.
"For the time being, it is related to mark up (the price of pineapple seeds) and related to its activities. However, we are still developing it. What was examined yesterday was for an investigation of approximately 10 people," he said.
This search was in response to the report of the Indonesian Student Activist Guard (GAKMI) during an action at the TPHBun Office, Jalan Amirullah, on October 22, 2022, then submitted the report of evidence of the alleged corruption to the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office.
"(Reported) in October 2025. So, we are fast, because it must be appropriate. (The determination of the suspect) has not yet been. We have just investigated, even though we immediately relayed this," he told the media crew.
When asked about the 10 people who have been questioned by the South Sulawesi Special Prosecutor's Office investigators, he said, "Later, the investigators will convey it. We will examine (how much) later. Anyway, related to the procurement of this activity, we will conduct an examination."
