Prime Video Launches AI Powered Video Summary To Help Users Follow Stories Channels

JAKARTA Prime Video, Amazon's film and serial streaming platform, announced the launch of a new feature called Video Summary. This feature will be supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

As the name implies, this feature is here to summarize the full content of the story. This feature will help users understand the storyline if they have difficulty understanding or following the storyline that has been broadcast before.

According to Amazon, this summary can compile a summary of the season with cinematic quality. The video will also be made in a summary equipped with a number of supporting elements such as narrative, dialogue, and synchronized music.

The Video Summary Feature began rolling out in beta on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Certain Prime Originals shows, such as Fallout, Tomncy's Jack Ryan, and Upload, will be the first to get this feature.

Video summary is an upgrade to an AI-based tool with a similar function that Prime Video launched last year, namely X-Ray Recaps. Previously, the X-Ray feature summarized the entire season, episodes, or parts of the episode, but in different formats.

Amazon previously emphasized that its AI model has a special barrier. This barrier is installed to ensure that the resulting recap does not share spoilers on purpose so that the user's viewing experience will not be damaged.

Although text-based AI summarys are common on various platforms and devices, video summary is still something new. This feature is much more interesting and interactive so it tends to be relied on by users compared to regular text summarys.
